Who writes the content

Every guide, area page, and answer on this site is written or reviewed by Laycee Maupin, principal of Local Living Real Estate, an Arkansas-licensed real estate professional based in Huntsville. Laycee writes from her own day-to-day experience in Northwest Arkansas markets and reviews content before it is published.

We do not buy syndicated boilerplate copy. We do not auto-generate pages from templates. If a page is on this site, a human in Northwest Arkansas wrote, reviewed, and stands behind it.

How we source numbers and claims

Anything that involves a number, a tax rate, a deadline, a credit amount, or a state law is sourced. The pages cite the source inline, with a link, near the figure. The sources we rely on most often are:

• Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration millage reports
• The Arkansas Assessment Coordination Department
• The U.S. Census Bureau (American Community Survey for population and housing)
• The Tax Foundation Property Taxes by State and County data set
• The local Multiple Listing Service used by Northwest Arkansas REALTORS^®
• County assessor and collector offices for Madison, Washington, Benton, and Carroll counties

If a page makes a claim that you cannot trace to a source link, please tell us. We will either add the source or remove the claim.

How we handle AI-assisted drafting

Some pages are drafted with the assistance of generative AI tools and then reviewed and edited by Laycee Maupin before publication. Every published page reflects her review. AI-drafted text that has not been reviewed by a person is not published on this site.

Update cadence

We review every guide and area page at least once a year, and immediately when we know about a tax-law change, a deadline change, or a market shift that makes prior content inaccurate. The footer of each piece carries a "Last reviewed" date so you can see when it was most recently checked.

Editorial independence

We do not accept paid placements, sponsorships, or affiliate commissions in editorial content on this site. The brokerage's compensation comes from real estate transaction commissions paid by the parties to the transaction, governed by Arkansas real estate license law and standard agency agreements. No third party can buy a placement, link, or favorable mention on a page on this domain.

Corrections

If you spot an error, please email keepingitrealnwa@gmail.com with the URL of the page, the sentence in question, and what you think is incorrect.
